It has been said that vision is what separates leaders from followers. Can a business or an individual achieve greatness and mastery without a vision? And how do you build your vision when it is still not completely defined? Some vision experts are fans of vision boards.
According to John Assaraf, one of the experts featured in the film and book The Secret, “A vision board is a powerful tool that anyone can use to shape an ideal future through the power of intention and visualization. Learning how to vividly imagine your desired results–attracting your perfect soul mate, radiant health, abundant career opportunities, or building personal and community relationships to give back–is the first step on the path to making them happen.”
For Claudia Krusch, creating a vision board has enabled her to grow and expand her business so that she could achieve her goals and dreams.
“Since I’ve watched The Secret, visualization, goal setting and planned action aligned with my vision have been the three most important components to my businesses,” said Claudia Krusch, a native Brazilian mom, linguist, teacher, content creator, speaker, blogger at Trendy Latina, entrepreneur and founder of Social Coerce Smart Social Media Solutions . “Two components of my vision, social media management and speaking engagements, were revealed to me during the process of living my vision, helping me make the necessary adjustments to enable that growth and remain aligned with that vision.”
Claudia organized an event to share her vision board making with local business owners in the Cherry Hill, NJ, area, providing some steps that have helped her in the past four years so that our LIBizus can build their own vision board for next year. So, let’s get to work!
Claudia recommends reading these two works before starting your task.
Write a complete version of your vision with details for different areas of your life and give each area a subtitle to summarize it. Business growth, personal finances, education, whichever it is that you are looking to grow, set it up and bring it on!
Compile a couple of old magazines and look for images and words to carry the vision, which will follow you in the new year, every time you look at the board in your office.
Claudia selected author Wayne Dyer to help her meditate. “My first minutes each day are entering a stage of gratitude and meditation. This important part of carrying my vision prepares my mind and body to face my daily challenges,” she said.
5- Gratitude and celebration:
Every victory needs to be met with huge gratitude amplified in social media. “I also have my own celebration moments where I give myself something special to remind me of that special victory. The reason for celebrating is not important, the celebration is!”
We asked the Vision Board event participants what they learned or enjoyed the most from the process, and some of their responses were:
“The meditation aspect was important for me, I’m a visual person and I was able to get some clarity from this morning meditation.”
“I liked a system to put my vision together by areas of growth.”
“I found useful the idea of building a team” and “I enjoyed building my vision board sharing it with other people.”
“I also enjoyed the encouragement of accomplishing my vision with an attitude of gratitude.”
