Beverley has worked in New York, and London with designer companies such as Calvin  Klein, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Roland Mouret, and Alexander Wang, which enabled her  to hone her technical and production skills for building her business.

Upon relocating from London to New York, Beverley began developing an evening wear collection that was later carried by major upscale retailers across the country and in Canada.

Beverley has always had an interest in developing a wardrobe for the working woman, and the  time had finally come to begin this collection.

“My first idea to develop a collection was after attending a tradeshow,” she says. “I decided to develop  eight styles, which I began receiving orders for from upscale boutiques nationwide.”

Beverley’s womenswear collection and brand is “all about you” and celebrates and caters to all of the most radiant women around the world.

“Our collection is a luxurious, timeless, elegant brand that will always have you looking on point for all of your social soirees,” says Beverley. “Designed for the fabulousness in you, it’s all about your style, your energy, and creating unique collections which embody everything you need to stir up the magic!”

Beverley Olivacce’s designs are described as a “portraits of self-expression.” Her creativity and designs draw inspiration from the Caribbean, Italy, France, London, and New York.

Success for Beverley is in seeing the love for her collection and helping each woman feel beautiful. Beverley says that once a woman steps into an Olivacce, she’ll fall in love with the way she looks and feels.

“My favorite story about my business is the fact that I have had a few styles that kept selling  over, and over again season after season. I liken it to having a hit song that everyone likes to  listen to over, and over again.”

As a brand, Beverley Olivacce continuously creates an exciting range of sizzling styles, that include glamorous classics, modish ensembles, snazzy cocktails, frocks, and daywear savvy working women.

“We envision big things happening on this platform, and we are thrilled about continuously creating fabulous, classic, and contemporary fashion with you in mind. Remember, every woman deserves to remind herself for the rest of her life that she is beautiful!”

Entrepreneurship lessons learned

As an entrepreneur, one of the main obstacles Beverley encountered along the way was not having a mentor to guide her. Many new entrepreneurs, especially minority women entrepreneurs, are familiar with this struggle. It is often difficult to find those communities, networks, and mentors when first starting out.

Feeling alone in a new venture or project can make the journey feel more daunting as well. Many new entrepreneurs flounder under the pressure.

“There were a lot of complex decisions, which I had to make alone,” says Beverley.

Today, she works to bring women together and share information. She holds various events catered toward bringing together other women in fashion, from boutiques, buyers, stylists, bloggers, brand ambassadors, enterprising women, fashion consultants, and business owners.

“The Women of Power and Style” is one of these events, where women in the industry can connect, network, and share stories, resources, and advice.

Reflecting on her own journey and lessons learned, Beverley advises, “I would say to other women going into business to sit down and write the business plan and use that business plan as a road map the same way you would follow the GPS in your car, and do not allow anyone to delay your arrival. Spend a lot of time in solitude so you can figure out  the next steps.”
