As a travel blogger and self-published travel author, Anita never wanted to own a travel business. A lover of traveling from a young age, Anita was more interested in sharing her travel experiences than owning a business.
“I am just an ol’ Southern girl that has a love of all things travel,” she writes on her blog. “Born in Charleston S.C., I am no stranger to tourism. Many folks travel down to the “Low Country” to get a taste of some good ol’ Southern Hospitality and sweet tea. Others travel to Charleston for it’s historic glow and wonder.”
As a child, Anita often traveled to visit her grandparents during her summer breaks and these trips were what first made her fall in love with traveling.
This love continued to grow until she decided to share her passion for travel with the world, creating her travel blog “Travel Is D’new Black” in 2018 to share tips and opinions on her adventures across the world.
Then, in 2019 she self-published my first book Adulting to Travel, to teach travelers how to use every day adulting to travel the world for free, or at a deeply discounted rate.
However, Antia finally decided to take the leap and start her own travel business in 2019 after the universe kept dropping this opportunity in her lap for years. While Anita was only interested in blogging and travel writing, multiple people continued to approach her with business offers.
“A few seven figure earners tried to offer me their business. This happened more than once. It wasn’t until then that I leaned in on my love for travel and my need to serve the people. Then POW! I created Noire Escapes in December of 2019, right before the pandemic took over the globe.”

Her love for travel and her love of serving others lead her to create a travel company built on creating escape experiences and taking men and women across the globe to check off bucket list items. Being able to play a part in people’s travel adventures and life-changing trips brings Anita “ultimate joy.”
“I launched Noire Escapes to remind the high-level corporate professional and entrepreneur that travel is a form of self-care and to no longer wait on others to travel with them,” she says.
Launching a travel business right before the start of a global pandemic was not easy, though. With the world shut down and travel restrictions in place, Anita had to work hard to pivot her business.
“There was no one to sell travel to,” she says. “However, I kept showing up on social media and sharing tips, tricks and recent news to stay relevant and stay in the front of my audiences’ minds.”
As a true visionary she is always full of ideas and loves to share them with her audience. Her Instagram livestreams are always a hit with her loyal viewers who know she’s about to “drop some awesome travel knowledge on them.”

Anita is driven and motivated to create travel experiences for her clients that no one else is doing, but that people are truly asking for. These experiences, like her upcoming Napa Valley Escape, keep her “edgy” and unique.
