SHCCNJ raises the bar for its 25th Annual Convention, Expo and Awards
Once again, the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey held its 25th Annual Convention and Expo on October 16 at The Brownstone in Paterson NJ. The event brought together corporate leaders, government officials and business owners from the Northeast region.
Opening remarks by Chairman Carlos A Medina, Vice President Luis O De la Hoz, Maritza Davila, Paterson Councilwoman and other members of the chamber and community preceded the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.
“This event helps our members expand their relationships, hone their skills, and meet people that will improve their bottom line,” Medina said. Please peruse the highlights of the event in the photo galleries below.
One of the most stimulating parts of the SHCCNJ Annual Convention and Expo is the Awards Luncheon, when those who contribute or advocate for our New Jersey Latino community are recognized by their peers.
Each year, the chamber goes through the difficult process of selecting among the growing number of accomplished Latinas and Latinos that are giving their all to a flourishing business community. These year’s awardees were:
Arlene Quinones-Perez, Lawyer of the Year
Ona Diaz-Santin, Businesswoman of the Year
Michael Miqueli, Businessman of the Year
Kellie LeDet Region 2 Administrator SBA Small Business Advocate
Yvonne Lopez, Non-profit Advocate for the Year
Monique Manso, Latina Trailblazer of the Year (absent)
Restaurateur of the Year, Alysis Vazquez, Chilltown Kitchen
Cesar Teixeira, Chairman’s Award
A special and well-deserved recognition was awarded to Erica Horton, the Chamber’s Office Manager but in reality, the heart and soul of the chamber’s backstage execution and operation. The Chamber’s Social Media Ambassadors were also present at the luncheon to provide social media coverage for the event. Also, National TV Host and Award Winning Author Don Daniel Ortiz conducted a successful book signing session, and was surrounded by beautiful ladies!
As usual, the LatinasInBusiness.us booth attracted the most engaged Latinas in the house! Thanks to all our followers and supporters who stopped by and took a picture with us!
